10 Years of Empowering Communities to Defend Mother Earth
Movement Rights celebrates 10 years of transformative work, growing from humble beginnings around a kitchen table into a leading force in the Indigenous-led Rights of Nature and climate justice movements. Founded by Shannon Biggs and Pennie Opal Plant, and later joined by Casey Camp Horinek as Board Chair, the organization has empowered frontline communities, supported tribal sovereignty, and encouraged the to protection of Mother Earth. Through initiatives like Rights of Nature Tribunals, Intertribal Rights of Nature Forums, and nonviolent actions, Movement Rights has built a global network rooted in love, resilience, and respect for the sacred system of life.Â
